How we handle your personal information
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026. This policy describes Bight Audio’s current handling of personal information.
1. Who we are
Bight Audio (ABN 36 155 234 483) is based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This policy explains how personal information is handled in connection with bightaudio.com, RELAYER, purchases, licence activation and support. For privacy enquiries, contact hello@bightaudio.com.
2. Enquiries and support
When you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, order reference and technical details. We use it to respond, troubleshoot problems and assist with purchases or activations. Support attachments may contain personal information, file paths or other confidential material; please send only what is needed and material you have permission to share.
Business email at hello@bightaudio.com uses Microsoft 365 / Outlook supplied through GoDaddy. GoDaddy, Microsoft and their relevant service providers handle messages, sender and recipient details, attachments and associated email information to provide and secure the email service.
3. Purchases through Lemon Squeezy
Lemon Squeezy processes RELAYER purchases as merchant of record and delivers licence keys. Checkout collects the customer, billing and payment information required to process the order, calculate taxes, prevent fraud and provide receipts. Lemon Squeezy and its payment providers handle payment credentials.
Bight Audio can access customer and order information made available through Lemon Squeezy, such as your name, email address, product, order reference, payment or refund status and licence details. We use this information to verify purchases, provide licences and support, and handle refund or activation enquiries. Do not send card numbers or security codes to Bight Audio by email.
4. RELAYER licence activation and local records
During online activation, RELAYER sends your licence key and a device name derived from your computer name to Lemon Squeezy. Subsequent validation or deactivation requests use the licence key and, where available, the activation identifier. These requests allow the service to verify the licence and manage its activation limit. The service also receives connection information, including your IP address.
RELAYER stores trial dates and licence state locally on your computer. A saved activation includes the licence key, activation identifier and validation timestamps. Windows uses operating-system protection for the activation record; macOS uses an owner-restricted local file. Local settings, libraries, presets and project state are used to operate the software. These local records are separate from the customer and licence records held by Lemon Squeezy.
5. Your audio and project files
RELAYER processes audio and searches its sound-library index locally. Its current licensing requests do not upload your audio, project files, sound-library file paths or library metadata to Bight Audio or Lemon Squeezy. The current application does not automatically upload diagnostic reports. If you choose to send files or diagnostic information for support, we receive the material you send.
6. Website, cookies and external services
The website is built and hosted using Framer. Framer processes information needed to serve and secure the website and provides built-in site analytics. Framer describes its built-in analytics as cookie-free. That description does not cover separate checkout services or any additional third-party scripts.
Opening the Lemon Squeezy checkout, including an embedded checkout, connects your browser to Lemon Squeezy and its payment providers. Those services may use cookies, local storage and device or connection information for checkout, authentication, security and fraud prevention. Browser settings can restrict cookies and storage, but doing so may affect checkout functionality. See each provider’s privacy information for its practices.
7. Mailing lists and additional tracking
Bight Audio does not currently operate a newsletter or use advertising pixels or additional analytics beyond Framer’s built-in site analytics. Purchase receipts, licence delivery and support messages are operational communications. If we introduce a mailing list or additional tracking, we will update this policy before it starts, identify the relevant providers and purposes, and provide any consent, unsubscribe or other choices required by applicable law.
8. Providers and overseas processing
We use Framer for website hosting, Lemon Squeezy for purchases and licensing, and Microsoft 365 / Outlook supplied through GoDaddy for business email. These providers and their service providers may process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States. Framer and Lemon Squeezy identify United States processing in their privacy information; Microsoft also describes processing in Australia, the United States and other countries where it or its service providers operate. These are possible processing locations, not a statement that every record is stored in each country or that our mailbox is hosted in a particular region. Provider locations and transfer arrangements vary by service. Their privacy information below describes their international processing and applicable safeguards. Contact us if you need further information about a particular disclosure or transfer.
Provider privacy information:
9. Retention and security
We delete support attachments within 90 days after the support matter is resolved and ordinary support correspondence within two years after resolution, unless particular information is still needed for an active licence, a legal or accounting obligation, or an unresolved dispute. We retain necessary purchase and licensing records for as long as needed to administer the licence, meet applicable recordkeeping requirements and resolve outstanding matters. An active licence does not by itself require us to keep unrelated support attachments. We review retained information and delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed, subject to applicable legal requirements. You can contact hello@bightaudio.com to request deletion or ask about a particular record.
Records independently controlled by Lemon Squeezy, Framer, GoDaddy or Microsoft are subject to their own retention practices and legal obligations. Where a provider stores records on our behalf, we remain responsible for managing those records within our control. Deleting a local RELAYER file does not delete provider records. No online service or local storage method can guarantee absolute security; protect your device, email account and licence key, and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
10. Access, correction, deletion and complaints
Contact hello@bightaudio.com to ask about your personal information, request access or correction, request deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Please explain the request and include enough information to identify the relevant interaction or order. We may need to verify your identity; do not send identity documents unless specifically requested. We acknowledge privacy complaints within seven calendar days and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 calendar days. We review the relevant records and circumstances, investigate the concern and explain our findings and any corrective action. If more time is needed, we will explain why and provide an expected response date. Any shorter deadline required by applicable law takes priority.
Available rights and exceptions depend on the law that applies. These may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, and withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or unresolved matters. We will explain any applicable reason for refusing a request. Where a provider independently controls information, you may also need to contact that provider. You may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where it has jurisdiction, or your relevant local regulator, including an EEA data protection authority or the UK Information Commissioner where applicable. Contacting us does not remove that right.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our data-handling practices change, including before introducing a mailing list or additional tracking. The date above identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required by applicable law.
